Earth Hour 2026:

Insects Keep the Earth Beating

Every year, Earth Hour reminds the world that small actions can spark meaningful change. On 28 March 2026, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast will join the global movement with a day of engaging activities inspired by one of nature’s smallest yet most essential creatures: insects.

Under the theme “Insects Keep the Earth Beating,” the hotel will invite guests and visitors to discover how these tiny species help sustain ecosystems and biodiversity. The morning will begin with a “Meet the Entomologist” session led by Dr Aqilah Binti Awg Abdul Rahman, where families and young explorers can learn about the role insects play in the natural world. Interactive activities including insect trivia, seed ball making for pollinators, and insect-inspired yoga will offer a fun and educational way for guests to connect with nature.

Throughout the afternoon, the lobby will host an insect exhibition, creative activities, and community vendors, giving guests the chance to explore the fascinating world of insects up close. The evening will build towards the Earth Hour lights-off countdown, accompanied by “Buzzing Bites” treats and fascinating insect facts.

Participation fees from the morning session will be donated to the Pengerang Association for the Arts of Persons with Disabilities, supporting meaningful work within the local community.

At Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, Earth Hour will be more than switching off the lights. It will be a reminder that even the smallest creatures can inspire big change.
