Kids Fashion Show Contest Merdeka 2026

Theme: Colors of Malaysia

1. Participation is open to teams consisting of one (1) parent/guardian and one (1) child aged 4–12 years old.
2. Each team is required to register and pay a participation fee of MYR 80.
3. Upon registration, each team will receive one (1) Hard Rock Kids Classic Tee on the event day.
4. Participants must bring their own props, decorative materials, craft supplies, accessories and costume elements to complete their Merdeka-inspired outfit.
5. Teams will have 60 minutes to dress the whole Merdeka-inspired outfit.
6. Hard Rock Classic Tee must be the key feature of the overall look.
7. The outfit should celebrate Malaysia’s culture, unity, heritage, diversity, landmarks, food, traditions, wildlife or national identity.
8. Following the creation session, teams will have 3 minutes maximum each participant to participate in a mini catwalk showcase, where the child participant will model the completed outfit before the judges.
9. Participants may incorporate props, accessories, and presentation elements during the catwalk showcase to enhance their storytelling and overall presentation.
10. All props and accessories must be safe, family-friendly and suitable for an indoor event environment.
11. The Malaysian flag (Jalur Gemilang) is not to be used as the main design element. However, participants may draw inspiration from Merdeka values and national pride through other creative interpretations.
12. Judging Criteria:

• Creativity & Originality (40%)
• Interpretation of Merdeka Theme (30%)
• Craftsmanship & Presentation (20%)
• Parent-Child Collaboration (10%)

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.

First Prize

• One (1) 2D1N stay at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast for two (2) adults and two (2) children
• Inclusive of daily breakfast and Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast access for registered guests

Second Prize

• Four (4) Desaru Fruit Farm Day Activity Passes for two (2) adults and two (2) children

Third Prize

• Four (4) Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast admission tickets for two (2) adults and two (2) children

All participants will receive a certificate of participation and consolation prize.

• Participation is limited to registered contestants only.
• Children must be accompanied by their registered parent/guardian throughout the contest.
• The outfit must be assembled during the contest period.
• Participants are required to bring their own decoration materials for the competition.
• Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant whose outfit contains offensive, political, religious, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
• The use of hazardous materials, sharp objects, spray paint, glitter bombs, or substances deemed unsafe by the organiser is strictly prohibited.
• T-shirt sizes are subject to availability and are non-exchangeable.
• Contestants are responsible for ensuring their personal craft materials are safe and suitable for children.
• By participating, contestants agree that photographs and videos taken during the event may be used by the organiser for marketing and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
• Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
• The organiser reserves the right to amend the contest mechanics, prizes, or terms and conditions without prior notice.
• In the event of any dispute, the organiser's decision shall be final and binding.
