The Hard Rock Heals Foundation is donating a USD5,000 grant to fund ‘Music School of Hard Rock’, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project by Hard Rock Hotel Penang and YMCA Penang that aims to develop young talents among underprivileged musically-inclined children & youths from targeted charitable homes. Fund donated by the Hard Rock Heals Foundation will help support these children by providing a music studio, instrument donations and music education.
The Hard Rock Heals Foundation seeks to improve lives and communities through the power of music and to build and invest in programs and partnerships that contribute positively to people, communities and the natural environment. In February 2019, Hard Rock International in partnership with its Hard Rock Heals Foundation, announced that it will donate USD250,000 to 50 grant recipients around the world as part of the brand’s commitment to improving the lives and resiliency of local communities. The ‘Music School of Hard Rock’ is one of the community-run programmes that the Hard Rock Heals Foundation is supporting to provide greater opportunities for those who share Hard Rock’s passion for music.
Staying true to its motto – Take Time to Be Kind – Hard Rock Hotel Penang is collaborating with YMCA Penang to create an impact and change lives of underprivileged musically-inclined children and youths through the ‘Music School of Hard Rock’ programme. The programme will enable a selection of children from the House of Hope and The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home with access to music lessons, musical instruments and performance opportunities.
“We are honoured to join forces with YMCA Penang as our trusted partner that share our belief in the universal healing power of music,” said John Primmer, the general manager of Hard Rock Hotel Penang. “The ‘Music School of Hard Rock’ programme is a joint effort to improve lives through the power of music, and we are fortunate to receive a generous donation from the Hard Rock Heals Foundation to help support these underprivileged musically-inclined children & youths to discover the power of music and to inspire their love for music.”
