Hard Rock Hotel Penang will join the world and turn off the lights for an hour from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. SGT on Saturday, 30 March 2019 to help spark global awareness and take action for a healthy planet.
As part of its initiative towards protecting the environment and ongoing commitment to sustainability, Hard Rock Hotel Penang invites all in-house guests to participate in the initiative by switching off all exterior lights and dimming all non-essential lightings for one hour to reduce carbon footprint. During that hour, all restaurants will serve dinner in LED candle light and all retail outlets such as the Rock Spa and the Rock Shop will be illuminated with decorated LED lights.
To celebrate Earth Hour, the hotel has lined up a series of environmental-friendly activities that guests can participate in. Each hotel room will receive four glow sticks to join the Neon Party at Hard Rock Cafe Penang. The event features a live band, rock trivia and exciting entertainments. Aside from the Neon Party, in-house guests can also enjoy acoustic live music at the Lobby Lounge while the kids can join the fun with painting or play their part in crafting handmade glow-in-the-dark lanterns at the Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club prior to Earth Hour.

It is also an opportunity for us to show our resolve to change.”
As an environmentally conscious and socially responsible company, supporting Earth Hour is only a small part of Hard Rock Hotel Penang’s environmental-protection efforts. The hotel has actively practiced in green efforts from its start by using energy saving LED lights, water-saving devices and automatic air-conditioning control systems with heat recovery, biodegradable cleaning materials and eco-friendly bathroom amenities for all guestrooms.
